An insight into the Swiss Triple Impact, a national sustainability program launched by B Lab Switzerland

Strong partnerships for the win

Concretely, the STI program is designed around a three-step approach to help Swiss businesses of all sizes and sectors to make concrete commitments to the SDGs. Participating businesses receive customized support through coaching, workshops, peer-to-peer networks and access to experts. They are also benefiting from the tools of B Lab, such as the SDG Action Manager. The group activities and workshops encourage the co-creation of innovative solutions between companies facing the same sustainability issues and/or belonging to the same local ecosystem.

The Directory: The last step to concretely contribute to the SDGs

The final step of the program consists of a validation of the commitments made by the companies. Throughout their STI journey, companies managed to come up with a concrete action plan to contribute at their own level to the SDGs. These commitments are subject to validation by B Lab Switzerland, which ensures that measurable success indicators are associated with the commitment.

  1. By 2030, they will reduce the carbon footprint of their menu by 30 %.
  2. By 2030, they will reduce their customers’ avoidable food waste by less than 10% of the production volume.
  3. By 2030, their company fleet is 100% CO2-neutral.
  4. By 2030, 100% of their packaging is made from renewable, biodegradable, or fermentable raw materials.

Who are these committed companies?

Companies of all sizes and all sectors can join the STI program, no matter where they stand in their sustainability journey. This aspect allows each company to act at its own scale in favor of the SDGs. This is what Magic Tomato, a company that delivers fresh and local products, highlights:
